About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
Nestled in Florence, KY, the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship is dedicated to cultivating a sustainable food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, this fellowship empowers participants to become influential teachers and advocates for a just food system. Through an accessible, tuition-free model, the program offers in-depth organic food system education and equips Fellows to engage in hands-on projects such as growing and distributing diverse crops, maintaining community gardens, and promoting food literacy in schools. Over a transformative six-month residential experience at AMI’s Allegheny Farm Campus, followed by a Community Action Year, Fellows work collaboratively with regional non-profit organizations to implement innovative health education, support farmers markets, and enhance access to healthy foods. Applications are accepted until March for experiences running from May to October each year, inviting passionate individuals to join us in fostering community well-being through food equity.
