About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship at Fort Campbell, KY, is dedicated to nurturing a new generation of leaders who advocate for a just and sustainable food system. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, this transformative program offers comprehensive training without tuition costs, making it accessible to all. During an immersive six-month experience at the Allegheny Farm Campus, selected Fellows engage in organic food system education and acquire practical skills to grow and distribute diverse crops, implement innovative health care educational sessions, maintain community gardens, and teach ecological literacy. Following their training, Fellows participate in a Community Action Year, collaborating with regional non-profit organizations to expand access to healthy food through farmers markets and other direct-to-consumer initiatives. Applications are accepted until March each year, with experiences running from May to October, creating impactful opportunities for community empowerment and sustainable food practices.
