About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship at Fort Knox, KY, empowers passionate individuals to become advocates for a just and sustainable food system. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, this fellowship offers comprehensive training in organic food practices, encouraging participants to engage in real-world applications like growing and distributing diverse crops, implementing educational health initiatives, and enhancing community gardens. Through a hands-on, six-month residential experience at our Allegheny Farm Campus, followed by a Community Action Year, Fellows collaborate with regional non-profits to promote food accessibility and strengthen community food systems. Our commitment to inclusivity is reflected in our decision to forgo tuition fees, ensuring that all aspiring leaders can join us in transforming the food landscape for the better. Applications are welcomed until March each year, with the fellowship experience running from May to October.
