Located in Glasgow, KY, the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship from the Allegheny Mountain Institute is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of advocates for a socially, environmentally, and economically just food system. The Fellowship provides a unique opportunity for selected participants to engage in a comprehensive, six-month experiential program at AMI’s Allegheny Farm Campus, where they receive organic food system education without any tuition fees to ensure accessibility for all. During their time, Fellows learn to cultivate and distribute diverse crops, implement innovative health education sessions, maintain community gardens, and enhance food and ecological literacy in schools. They also play a crucial role in supporting farmers markets and developing channels that ensure access to healthy foods. Following their immersive training, participants embark on a Community Action Year, working alongside regional non-profit organizations to apply their skills and further their impact within the community. Applications for the Fellowship are accepted until March for programs running from May to October.
