About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, based in Henderson, KY, is dedicated to cultivating a new generation of leaders who advocate for a just and sustainable food system. Through comprehensive training at the Allegheny Farm in Highland County, VA, our program offers Fellows practical, hands-on education in organic farming and food systems without tuition fees, ensuring accessibility for all. Participants engage in diverse initiatives, including growing and distributing crops, implementing health-focused educational sessions, maintaining community gardens, and enhancing food literacy within schools. Our Fellows also play an essential role in supporting farmers markets and developing channels for healthier food access, all while building invaluable connections with community partners. Over the course of a six-month immersive experience followed by a Community Action Year, they apply their training through collaborative projects with local non-profits, fostering impactful change in the food landscape. Applications are due by March each year, with the program typically running from May to October.
