In Independence, KY, the Holiday Food Distribution program by Freestore Foodbank serves as a lifeline for families facing challenges during the festive season. Each year, we provide essential food assistance, ensuring our neighbors can enjoy a hearty Thanksgiving and December holidays. Each household receives a generous package that includes a turkey, canned vegetables, stuffing, macaroni & cheese, gravy, and fresh produce, all aimed at creating memorable holiday meals. We understand that accessing food during difficult times can be daunting, so we strive to simplify the process. To receive assistance, families are required to present a state ID or driver’s license, proof of current address, and birth certificates or social security cards for each household member.
