The Selma Schimmel Vital Grant is dedicated to supporting individuals in Independence, KY who are experiencing significant financial hardship due to the burdens of chronic, terminal, or rare conditions, including cancer, Parkinson's disease, and Huntington's disease. This compassionate program provides essential utility assistance and grocery assistance to help alleviate some of the financial strain during difficult times. Please note that the grant can cover either utilities or groceries but not both simultaneously. Additionally, we collaborate with various organizations to connect those in need with further assistance, ensuring that members of our community receive comprehensive support and care throughout their journey.
