The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Irvine, KY, empowers passionate individuals to become leaders in creating a food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice. Through immersive training at the Allegheny Farm, Fellows are equipped with essential knowledge related to organic food systems and community engagement. Our program, which is tuition-free to enhance accessibility, offers participants hands-on experiences in growing and distributing diversified crops, implementing innovative health education, maintaining community gardens, and teaching food and ecological literacy in local schools. Throughout this six-month Fellowship, followed by a year dedicated to community action, participants collaborate with regional organizations to increase access to healthy foods, support farmers markets, and mentor future Fellows. Applications are open until March each year, with the program running from May to October, fostering a vital network of advocates committed to building healthier, more resilient food systems.
