About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Liberty, KY, is dedicated to empowering individuals to become advocates for a just and sustainable food system. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, this fellowship provides extensive training in organic agriculture, community engagement, and food justice. Our program offers Fellows hands-on experience at Allegheny Farm, where they learn to grow and distribute diverse crops, implement innovative health education, maintain community gardens, and integrate food literacy into educational initiatives. By eliminating tuition costs, we ensure the Fellowship is accessible to all committed individuals. Selected Fellows participate in a six-month immersive program followed by a Community Action Year, during which they apply their skills in partnership with local non-profits to enhance food access and support community wellness initiatives. Applications are accepted until March each year for the fellowship running from May to October.
