About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Maysville, KY, is dedicated to training and empowering individuals to become advocates for a food system that champions social, environmental, and economic justice. Selected Fellows engage in six months of immersive training at the Allegheny Farm, where they learn to grow and distribute diverse crops, implement innovative healthcare education, maintain community gardens, and promote food and ecological literacy in local schools. Throughout their journey, Fellows also support farmers markets, develop distribution channels for healthy food access, and collaborate on community food initiatives. After their fellowship, participants enter a Community Action Year to apply their skills with regional non-profits, ensuring that the impact of their training continues to resonate within the community. Applications are accepted until March, with the fellowship experience running from May to October.
