About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Monticello, KY, empowers individuals to become transformative leaders within our food systems by promoting social, environmental, and economic justice. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, this no-cost Fellowship offers hands-on education in organic food systems, enabling participants to cultivate and distribute diverse crops on a market-style farm, implement innovative health care education, and maintain vital community and school gardens. Selected Fellows embark on a six-month immersive experience at the Allegheny Farm Campus, where they gain practical skills in food and ecological literacy, support local farmers markets, and enhance access to healthy foods. Following this, the Community Action Year allows Fellows to apply their knowledge in partnership with regional non-profits, cultivating lasting change and community engagement. Interested individuals can complete their application by March to join this enriching experience that typically runs from May to October each year.
