About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship based in Mount Vernon, KY, is dedicated to cultivating a new generation of leaders in equitable food systems through hands-on training and advocacy. Our program empowers selected Fellows to engage in a six-month immersive experience at our Allegheny Farm Campus, focusing on organic food system education and practical applications in community settings. Throughout their Fellowship, participants will develop skills in growing and distributing diversified crops, teaching food and ecological literacy, and supporting initiatives like farmers markets and community gardens. By promoting a socially, environmentally, and economically just food system, we strive to ensure access to healthy foods for all. We believe that education should be accessible, which is why we do not charge tuition for our program. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the Fellowship running from May to October, during which Fellows partner with local non-profits to make a meaningful impact in their communities.
