About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Owensboro, KY, is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of leaders in sustainable food systems. Our program empowers selected Fellows to champion a just food system that prioritizes social equity, environmental stewardship, and economic viability. By offering comprehensive training in organic agriculture and community engagement, we aim to enhance food literacy and promote healthier communities. Participants engage in hands-on experiences at our Allegheny Farm Campus, focusing on initiatives such as growing and distributing diverse crops, facilitating educational health programs, and developing school or community gardens. Our mission includes fostering partnerships with regional non-profits to implement innovative food access strategies and support local farmers markets. We believe accessibility is key; therefore, we do not charge tuition for our Fellowship program, making it open to all passionate individuals. Applications are accepted until March each year, and the Fellowship experience typically runs from May to October.
