At the Senior Food Program in Owensboro, KY, we are dedicated to enhancing the nutrition of low-income seniors through our collaboration with the Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP). Each month, we provide essential food assistance to 676 seniors, including those who are homebound, ensuring they receive a well-rounded box filled with nutritious items such as fresh fruits and vegetables, juices, meats, cereals, and dairy products. While this program offers vital support to meet basic nutritional needs, it is designed to complement rather than fully supply a month’s worth of food. Seniors aged 60 and older interested in this supportive program are welcomed to visit our office to complete an application, or they can conveniently download and return an application by mail. We believe everyone deserves access to healthy food and are committed to making a difference in the lives of our community's elderly population.
