The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Pineville, KY, empowers dedicated individuals to become advocates of a just food system through immersive training and community engagement. Sponsored by Allegheny Mountain Institute, this unique program offers a tuition-free opportunity for Fellows to gain hands-on experience in organic agriculture, promoting social, environmental, and economic justice. Over six months at our Allegheny Farm Campus, participants immerse themselves in experiential learning, growing diversified crops, maintaining community gardens, and implementing innovative food education initiatives. As part of their journey, Fellows will collaborate with local organizations to enhance access to healthy foods, support farmers markets, and foster food ecological literacy in schools. The fellowship culminates in a Community Action Year, where they can apply their new skills and knowledge in partnership with regional non-profits. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the fellowship running from May to October.
