About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Russell Springs, KY, offers aspiring leaders the opportunity to engage in transformative education and hands-on training focused on creating a fair and sustainable food system. Participants receive comprehensive organic food system education and can collaborate with community partners to cultivate diversified crops, implement innovative health care education sessions, maintain school and community gardens, and enhance food and ecological literacy in local schools. Throughout this six-month immersive experience at AMI's Allegheny Farm, fellows will also support farmers markets, develop channels for distributing healthy foods, and engage with community food coalitions. After their fellowship, participants enter a Community Action Year, applying their skills with regional non-profits to advocate for food justice. The program is committed to accessibility, with no tuition fees, ensuring that passionate individuals can partake in this vital work to reshape our food systems. Applications are open until March each year for the program running from May to October.
