About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Salyersville, KY, offers a transformative opportunity for individuals passionate about creating a just and sustainable food system. Supported by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, this fellowship program trains and empowers participants to become advocates and educators in organic food systems. Without tuition fees, we prioritize accessibility, ensuring that all aspiring fellows can join us in this mission. Over six months, fellows engage in hands-on learning at the Allegheny Farm Campus, where they will grow and distribute diverse crops, implement health education initiatives, maintain community and school gardens, and promote food and ecological literacy. Following this immersive experience, fellows embark on a Community Action Year, applying their knowledge in partnership with local non-profits to enhance food access and support community food initiatives. Interested individuals are encouraged to apply by March for the experience that unfolds from May to October.
