About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Winchester, KY, cultivates a new generation of advocates and educators dedicated to building a food system that is rooted in social, environmental, and economic justice. Through an immersive six-month program at our Allegheny Farm Campus, selected Fellows engage in hands-on training that covers organic food system education and practical farming techniques. Our mission promotes accessibility—there are no tuition fees to ensure anyone passionate about food justice can participate. Throughout the Fellowship, participants collaborate with community partners to grow diverse crops, maintain gardens, support farmers markets, and foster food literacy in schools. After the initial training, Fellows embark on a Community Action Year, applying their knowledge in partnership with local non-profit organizations. We invite individuals to apply by March of each year to join us in our mission to increase access to healthy food and empower communities throughout the region.
