Zack's House provides transitional housing for young men aged 18-35 who are in recovery from substance use disorders. Located in Lowell, Massachusetts, this supportive program accepts residents who have completed detox and maintained sobriety for 3-6 months. The community-based approach includes comprehensive support through case management, recovery coaching, clinical consultation, and weekly house meetings that bring staff and residents together. Each participant works with a recovery coach to develop personalized, trauma-informed action plans focused on continued treatment and relapse prevention. Residents can choose between shared accommodations at $600 monthly or single rooms at $800 monthly. Established in memory of Zachary Gys, a Lowell resident who lost his life to drug overdose in 2013, the program was created through a partnership between his family, friends, and Lowell House. The facility serves as a crucial bridge between residential recovery environments and fully independent living, offering the structure and support necessary for residents to build a foundation for lasting sobriety. Zack's House operates under Lowell House Incorporated, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization funded through various sources including state support, insurance, client fees, grants, and community fundraising efforts.
