Brown Bag Program

Somerville-Cambridge Elder Services (SCES) Somerville, MA

About Brown Bag Program

The Brown Bag Program, a collaborative initiative by the Greater Boston Food Bank and Somerville-Cambridge Elder Services (SCES), is dedicated to providing vital food assistance to residents of Somerville, MA. Each month, participants can receive a brown bag filled with 10-15 pounds of nutritious groceries, designed to meet the needs of local households. To participate, individuals must hold a Brown Bag Card, allowing for one bag per household. We encourage all participants to arrange for transportation if necessary, as our bags can be quite heavy. For those who may be unable to pick up their groceries in person, sending a friend or family member with their Brown Bag Card is also an option. The Brown Bag Program is committed to alleviating food insecurity and ensuring that everyone has access to nourishing food.
