The Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) in Alfred, ME, offered by the University of Maine Cooperative Extension, provides essential nutrition and health education at no cost to income-eligible adults with children. Whether you are part of SNAP, WIC, or Head Start programs, EFNEP is here to empower you with knowledge and skills that promote healthier living. Participants learn how to prepare new recipes, select nutritious foods, and save money on groceries, all while maintaining food safety and increasing physical activity. While our buildings are currently closed to ensure community safety during the ongoing pandemic, our dedicated educators are ready to offer EFNEP classes virtually, either one-on-one or in small groups.
