Island Connections is dedicated to improving the quality of life and promoting independence for seniors and individuals with disabilities on Mount Desert Island and neighboring islands through our free Rideshare transportation services. Our compassionate volunteers provide essential transportation to medical, dental, and vision appointments, while also assisting with meal deliveries, grocery shopping, pharmacy visits, and banking needs. We understand that access to reliable transportation is crucial, which is why we prioritize your requests and strive to match you with a volunteer driver based on availability. Our services include a specially equipped handicap-accessible van to ensure mobility for all. To best serve you, we kindly ask for advance notice when scheduling rides: 5 business days for off-island trips, 4 business days for cross-island journeys, and 3 business days for in-town services. We are here to support you, so please keep us informed of any changes to your appointments.
