About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

Based in Bridgton, ME, the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship cultivates a new generation of passionate advocates dedicated to transforming our food systems into models of social, environmental, and economic justice. Through hands-on training at the Allegheny Farm in Highland County, VA, this fellowship empowers individuals to engage in meaningful initiatives such as growing and distributing diverse crops, creating enriching educational sessions integrated with health care, and fostering healthy eating through school and community gardens. With no tuition fees, the program ensures accessibility for all aspiring Fellows, who will experience six months of immersive learning followed by a Community Action Year where they collaborate with local non-profits to implement their knowledge. We believe in the power of food literacy and community engagement to drive positive change, offering support for farmers markets, direct-to-consumer programs, and increased access to healthy food across the region.
