The Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) at the University of Maine Cooperative Extension is dedicated to empowering income-eligible adults with children in Bucksport, ME, by providing essential nutrition and health education completely free of charge. This program is especially beneficial for those participating in SNAP, WIC, or Head Start. Participants will gain valuable skills in cooking nutritious meals, making informed food choices, budgeting for groceries, ensuring food safety, and increasing physical activity. While our facilities are temporarily closed to prioritize community health during the pandemic, we are pleased to offer distance learning options for EFNEP classes, which can be attended individually or in small groups.
