Island Connections is dedicated to enhancing the independence and quality of life for seniors and individuals with disabilities in Bucksport, ME, by providing free Rideshare transportation services. Our compassionate team, supported by a network of committed volunteers, helps those who are unable to drive access essential services, including medical, dental, and vision appointments, as well as meal deliveries, grocery shopping, and local errands. We also prioritize transportation for exercise, social visits, and personal appointments. To ensure the best service, we encourage clients to contact our transportation coordinator in advance—five business days for off-island rides, four days for cross-island, and three days for in-town services. With a handicap-accessible van available, we are here to meet the unique transportation needs of our neighbors, ensuring everyone can stay connected and engaged in their community.
