Maine Harvest Bucks (MHB), an initiative of the Maine Federation of Farmers’ Markets based in Durham, ME, is dedicated to transforming food access by providing nutrition incentives to low-income shoppers at local farmers’ markets, CSA farms, and farm stands. This program empowers participants to enjoy fresh, local produce by offering $5 in Maine Harvest Bucks for every $10 spent using SNAP/EBT at participating vendors. These earned Bucks can be immediately used or saved for future purchases, ensuring that nutritious food is accessible to all members of the community. By supporting food assistance through this innovative program, we are committed to fostering healthy eating habits and connecting people with the bounty of Maine’s agriculture.
