Located in Eliot, ME, the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship at the Allegheny Mountain Institute is dedicated to developing the next generation of advocates for a just and sustainable food system. This transformative program offers hands-on education and training in organic food systems, empowering Fellows to make a meaningful impact in their communities. Participants engage in six months of immersive learning at the Allegheny Farm Campus, where they cultivate diversified crops, enhance food and ecological literacy through educational activities, and support local farmers’ markets. After their fellowship, they embark on a Community Action Year, collaborating with regional non-profits to apply their knowledge and foster community food initiatives. With a commitment to accessibility, the fellowship charges no tuition, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to contribute to a socially and economically equitable food landscape. Applications are open until March each year for experiences running from May to October.
