The Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) at the University of Maine Cooperative Extension in Fairfield, ME provides essential nutrition and health education free of charge to income-eligible adults with children, particularly those participating in programs like SNAP, WIC, or Head Start. Our dedicated team empowers individuals with practical skills to cook nutritious meals, make healthy food choices, save money at the grocery store, ensure food safety, and increase physical activity. Even during challenges such as the recent pandemic, we have adapted by offering remote nutrition education classes, ensuring that support remains available through one-on-one or small group sessions. As we look forward to reopening our offices in July, we are committed to fostering a healthier community through accessible, impactful food assistance and education.
