About Maine Senior FarmShare Program
The Maine Senior FarmShare Program is dedicated to enhancing the well-being of income-eligible older adults in Fort Kent, ME, by providing access to fresh, local produce at no cost. This initiative allows seniors to receive a share, valued at $50, directly from local Maine farmers during the growing season. Each year, starting in April, seniors can sign up with participating farmers to secure their share, but availability is limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis. By connecting older adults with wholesome food options, we strive to support healthy eating and foster community connections among Maine’s senior population.
