Located in Hollis Center, ME, Direct Assistance from the Salvation Army is dedicated to providing urgent support to individuals and families facing hardship. Our mission is to offer essential services, including food assistance through groceries, clothing for those in need, and housing assistance to ensure everyone has a safe place to live. We also supply fuel and energy assistance, personal hygiene kits, and medical support, as well as transportation help to navigate challenges. For residents of Old Orchard Beach, Saco, Biddeford, Dayton, and Arundel, we provide rent assistance of up to $150 for eligible individuals, and our team is committed to connecting clients with additional resources that can further support their needs. Together, we strive to uplift our community and create pathways to stability and well-being.
