Maine Harvest Bucks (MHB), an initiative of the Maine Federation of Farmers’ Markets, is dedicated to providing vital nutrition incentives for low-income shoppers in Houlton, ME. Through our program, individuals and families can receive financial assistance for food by earning $5 in Maine Harvest Bucks for every $10 spent using SNAP/EBT at participating farmers’ markets, CSA farms, and local farm stands that offer fresh produce. This approach not only supports healthy eating but also enhances access to locally grown food. Participants can utilize the Bucks immediately or save them for future purchases, ensuring they benefit from our emergency food resources in a way that best suits their needs. Join us in promoting food assistance and supporting our community’s health and wellness.
