About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

At the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Kennebunk, ME, we empower individuals to champion a food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice. Through a unique six-month training program at the Allegheny Farm, our Fellows gain hands-on experience in organic food systems and community engagement. Our curriculum includes growing diversified crops on market-style farms, implementing educational initiatives in health care, and maintaining school and community gardens. We focus on integrating food and ecological literacy into educational settings, supporting local farmers' markets, and developing access to healthy foods through innovative distribution channels. Our Fellowship, which does not require tuition to ensure accessibility, concludes with a transformative Community Action Year where selected Fellows partner with regional non-profits to apply their knowledge in real-world contexts. Applications are accepted until March for the program that runs from May to October of the same year, inviting passionate change-makers to join us in creating a more just food system.
