The Maine Senior FarmShare Program is dedicated to supporting income-eligible older adults in Madison, ME, by providing them with the opportunity to receive a complimentary share of local, fresh produce valued at $50 from Maine farmers during the growing season. Each year, seniors can sign up directly with participating farmers starting in April, allowing them to access nutritious food and foster connections with local agriculture. With a limited number of shares available on a first-come, first-served basis, we encourage seniors to apply early to help ensure they can benefit from this vital food assistance program. Meeting the eligibility criteria does not guarantee a FarmShare, but we strive to enhance access to healthy produce for those in need in our community.
