The Maine Senior FarmShare Program is dedicated to supporting income-eligible older adults in Old Orchard Beach, ME, by providing them with access to fresh, local produce during the growing season, absolutely free of charge. Each participant receives a share valued at $50, sourced directly from local Maine farmers, fostering both nutrition and community connections. Seniors can sign up with participating farmers starting in April; however, due to limited availability, shares are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. While meeting eligibility criteria is essential, it is important to note that it does not guarantee a FarmShare, emphasizing the need for timely registration to ensure access to this valuable resource.
