The Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) in Old Town, ME, offered by the University of Maine Cooperative Extension, is dedicated to providing essential nutrition and health education at no cost to income-eligible adults with children. Designed for families eligible for programs like SNAP, WIC, or Head Start, EFNEP empowers participants to enhance their cooking skills, make healthier food choices, reduce grocery costs, practice food safety, and increase physical activity. While in-person educational services have been temporarily transitioned to distance learning formats due to health precautions, our dedicated educators are committed to offering personalized, effective classes both individually and in small groups. As we work towards reopening our county offices in July, we invite community members to stay connected for updates and continue their journey towards better nutrition and health with EFNEP.
