The Maine Senior FarmShare Program is dedicated to enhancing the health and well-being of income-eligible older adults in Orono by providing them with access to fresh, local produce at no cost. Each year, during the growing season, eligible seniors have the opportunity to receive a $50 share of high-quality fruits and vegetables directly from local Maine farmers, fostering a connection to the community and promoting healthier eating habits. Enrollment begins in April, and shares are limited, operating on a first-come, first-served basis, so we encourage interested seniors to apply early and benefit from the bounty of Maine's farms.
