The Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) in Oxford, ME, is dedicated to empowering income-eligible adults with children through essential nutrition and health education. We provide valuable resources and classes for those eligible for assistance programs like SNAP, WIC, or Head Start. In our welcoming environment, participants learn to cook nutritious recipes, select healthy food options, save money while grocery shopping, ensure food safety, and incorporate physical activity into their daily lives. While our facilities are temporarily closed for community safety, our committed educators are offering remote nutrition education classes, available in both one-on-one and small group formats. We’re here to support families as they navigate these challenges and will update our community as we prepare to reopen our county offices this July, in accordance with University of Maine guidelines. Together, we aim to create healthier, more vibrant lifestyles for everyone in our community.
