About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

At the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship located in Poland, ME, we are dedicated to nurturing the next generation of food system advocates who champion social, environmental, and economic justice. Through an immersive six-month experiential learning program at Allegheny Farm, our Fellows gain hands-on education in organic food systems without the burden of tuition, fostering accessibility for all. During their fellowship, participants engage in diverse activities such as growing and distributing crops, maintaining community gardens, and integrating food and ecological literacy into educational settings. Our commitment extends beyond the farm; Fellows embark on a Community Action Year to apply their skills in partnership with local non-profits, supporting farmers markets, developing channels for healthy food access, and mentoring future cohorts. We invite passionate individuals to apply by March each year for an enriching experience that runs from May to October, allowing them to make real, positive impacts in their communities.
