The Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) at the University of Maine Cooperative Extension in Sabattus, ME, is dedicated to providing free nutrition and health education to eligible income-constrained adults with children, especially those involved in programs like SNAP, WIC, or Head Start. In our engaging and supportive environment, participants learn essential skills, from cooking nutritious recipes and selecting healthy foods to budgeting smarter at the grocery store and practicing food safety. Our program empowers individuals to lead healthier lives by promoting physical activity and wellness education. While our physical locations are temporarily closed for community safety, our dedicated educators are equipped to offer EFNEP classes virtually or in small groups, ensuring that vital resources remain accessible.
