The South Portland Food Pantry is dedicated to easing food insecurity and increasing awareness about hunger in South Portland, ME. Our mission is to provide essential food assistance to individuals and families in need, ensuring access to both perishable and non-perishable items. Clients may collect a week’s worth of groceries every Thursday from 8:30 to 11:00 a.m. and can access perishable items weekly on Tuesdays from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. We also offer a special evening food distribution on the first Wednesday of each month from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. for those who are unable to visit during the day. To better serve our community, we provide complimentary transportation for South Portland residents who lack transport, with up to four rides available each month during distribution times. To sign up for assistance and transportation, proof of Maine residency is required, and we encourage clients to respect the schedule in consideration of all community members.
