Maine Harvest Bucks (MHB) is dedicated to enhancing access to fresh, local produce for low-income shoppers in South Portland, ME. Through our innovative nutrition incentives, we empower participants by offering $5 in Maine Harvest Bucks for every $10 spent using SNAP/EBT at various farmers’ markets, CSA farms, and farm stands. Our program not only provides financial assistance for food, but also encourages healthy eating and supports local agriculture. Participants can utilize their Maine Harvest Bucks immediately or save them for future visits, making it easier to incorporate fresh foods into their lives while building a stronger community connection to local farmers.
