About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

Based in Turner, ME, the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship empowers individuals to champion a food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice. This tuition-free program provides a robust education in organic food systems, equipping selected Fellows with hands-on training to teach and advocate for vital food literacy initiatives. During their six-month residency at the Allegheny Farm Campus, participants engage in diverse activities, such as growing and distributing crops, implementing innovative community health education, and supporting local farms and markets. Following their training, Fellows participate in a Community Action Year, collaborating with regional non-profits to enhance access to healthy foods and integrate food education within schools and communities. The Fellowship aims to cultivate a new generation of leaders committed to sustainable food practices, with applications accepted through March each year for a program running from May to October.
