The Maine Senior FarmShare Program, located in Union, ME, is dedicated to empowering income-eligible older adults by providing them with the opportunity to receive a share of fresh, local produce at no cost. Each share, valued at $50, is sourced directly from local Maine farmers during the vibrant growing season. Seniors are encouraged to sign up with participating farmers starting in April, but please note that shares are limited and available on a first come, first served basis. This program not only supports healthy eating among seniors but also strengthens our connections with local agriculture, fostering a community grounded in nourishment and care.
