The Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) in Waldoboro, ME, offered by the University of Maine Cooperative Extension, is dedicated to empowering income-eligible adults with children to improve their nutrition and health. Through free services, those who qualify for assistance programs like SNAP, WIC, or Head Start can access practical nutrition and health education. Participants will gain valuable skills to cook nutritious meals, select healthy foods, save money on groceries, practice food safety, and increase physical activity. While our buildings are temporarily closed to protect community health, our educators are committed to providing engaging EFNEP nutrition classes remotely, whether in one-on-one or small group settings. As we adapt to current guidelines, updates regarding in-person classes and office openings will be shared, ensuring that our community continues to receive essential support during these challenging times.
