The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Westbrook, ME, is dedicated to cultivating a generation of leaders who advocate for a food system that is equitable, sustainable, and resilient. At the heart of our program, we provide comprehensive organic food system education, empowering Fellows to engage in diverse initiatives such as growing and distributing crops, implementing innovative health care educational sessions, and managing community gardens. Our mission is to enhance food and ecological literacy, support local farmers markets, and ensure greater access to healthy foods across communities. Through a six-month immersive experience at the Allegheny Farm Campus, followed by a Community Action Year with regional non-profit partners, selected Fellows gain hands-on training that prepares them to bring positive change in their communities. We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to participate in this transformative journey, which is why we ensure that our programming is tuition-free. Applications are due by March each year, with the fellowship experience typically running from May to October.
