About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Mount Pleasant, MI, is dedicated to cultivating future leaders who advocate for a just, sustainable food system. Our program empowers selected Fellows through a hands-on, immersive experience at Allegheny Farm, combining organic food system education with practical community initiatives. During their six-month residency, Fellows learn to grow and distribute diverse crops, facilitate educational sessions on health and nutrition, and engage in vital community activities such as maintaining gardens and promoting farmers markets. As part of their journey, they work with local non-profits to enhance access to healthy food and to mentor the next generation of advocates. We believe in making this opportunity accessible; therefore, the Fellowship does not charge tuition, allowing a wide array of participants to join us in fostering a socially, environmentally, and economically resilient food community. Applications are welcomed until March each year, with experiences running from May to October.
