At the Open Door Client-Choice Food Pantry in Oak Park, MI, we are dedicated to providing emergency food assistance and essential care items to men, women, children, and seniors facing financial hardship. Our mission is to ensure that individuals and families in our community have access to nutritious food, regardless of their background. We offer a monthly distribution of free groceries to support low-income families, single parents, seniors, unemployed individuals, disabled veterans, and anyone in need. Our pantry also provides personal care items and allows clients to shop for their needs four times a year in our resale store. To access our services, clients must provide a picture ID, proof of residency, proof of income, and child custody documentation when applicable. In response to COVID-19, we are currently operating drive-up food distribution, ensuring safety while still meeting the urgent needs of our community. Everyone is welcome at our pantry, and the amount of assistance provided is based on household size.
