The Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program in Saginaw, MI, is dedicated to enhancing the health and nutrition of pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, postpartum women, infants, and children up to age five. As a federally-funded initiative, WIC provides vital services including supplemental nutrition, comprehensive food assistance, and essential breastfeeding support, all designed to meet the specific nutrient needs of our clients. With a focus on education and access, our participants benefit from nutrition education, referrals to healthcare partners, and the use of a WIC Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card for purchasing nutrient-rich foods at authorized grocery stores and pharmacies. Additionally, our summer Project Fresh initiative allows clients to obtain fresh fruits and vegetables, further promoting healthy eating.
