Located in Waterford, MI, the Diabetes Prevention Program is dedicated to empowering participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to lead a healthier lifestyle and significantly lower their risk of type 2 diabetes. This comprehensive year-long initiative includes 16 engaging weekly sessions followed by monthly maintenance meetings, all focused on essential topics such as nutrition, physical activity, and behavioral changes. Participants benefit from personalized guidance provided by trained lifestyle coaches and supportive group interactions, fostering a sense of community throughout the program. It is important to note that individuals diagnosed with type 1 or type 2 diabetes are not eligible for this program. Best of all, the program is offered free of charge to qualifying individuals, although registration is required.
