About CSFP: Commodity Supplemental Food Program for Seniors
The Commodity Supplemental Food Program for Seniors (CSFP) in Austin, MN, is dedicated to enhancing the nutrition and well-being of seniors by providing essential food assistance. Administered by the Minnesota Department of Health and supported by Channel One in southeast Minnesota, we proudly operate over 50 distribution sites across thirteen counties, including food shelves, senior centers, and senior apartment complexes. Every month, eligible participants receive a nutritious food package filled with items such as American cheese, canned fruits and vegetables, juices, milk, canned meat, cereal, rice or pasta, and plant-based proteins like peanut butter or beans. Alongside these practical resources, we offer valuable information on healthy eating and nutrition education. Seniors in our community can easily apply for this vital support online, ensuring access to the emergency food they need to thrive.
